Building Operator - Office Complex

About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Building Operator to join our property management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and overall performance of an office complex.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections of building systems and common areas.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety, and mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly to tenant service requests and building emergencies.
- Complete preventative maintenance programs and routine repairs.
- Coordinate and oversee work performed by contractors and service providers.
- Monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS) and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and work orders.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow removal coordination and landscaping oversight.
- Support capital projects, renovations, and equipment replacements as required.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating commercial office buildings.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) is considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Building Environmental Systems (BES) certification or equivalent is an asset.
- 4th or 5th Class Power Engineer certification is considered an asset where applicable.
